Gaels Run Over Algoma 66-21

| By:
BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (January 31, 2014) - The Gaels (11-6) defeated the Algoma Thunderbirds (0-17) 66-21 in a blow out on Friday night at the ARC in OUA women's basketball action.

It was all Gaels for 40 minutes as Queen's held the Thunderbirds to 21 points in the game. All Queen's players saw the court in the match up. It was the relentless defense of the Gaels and the inability to convert on the offensive end for Algoma which led to Queen's 11th win on the season.

Robyn Pearson (Toronto) was the leading scorer for the game with 14 points in 18 minutes of court time. Abby Dixon (North Vancouver, B.C.), Liz Boag (Kingston, Ont.) and Emily Hazlett (Fredericton) each contributed nine points of their own. The leading scorer for the Thunderbirds was Amanda Orr with five points.

Queen's is currently ranked third in the East, only two points behind the University of Ottawa. The women are up against the Laurentian Voyageurs Saturday evening at 6pm.
