BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (January 11, 2014) - The Queen's men's basketball team (7-5) defeated the Toronto Varsity Blues (5-8) 84-64 on Saturday in front of a loud and excited home crowd at the Athletics and Recreation Centre.

The story of the night was the shooting precision by
Greg Faulkner (Kingston, Ont.) who finished with a game high of 37 points, going 17 for 22 from the floor. Whether it was a step-back three, a transition reverse lay up or a base-line fade-away pull-up, Faulkner was not missing anything.
Roshane Roberts (Markham, Ont.) was the spark that ignited the Gael's offense at the beginning of the game, hitting back to back three-pointers early in the first quarter. The rest of his team was not far behind as the team hit a collective 12 of 32 three pointers in the 20 point victory.
Â
The offensive woes for the Varsity Blues kept them from climbing back into the game. Queen's was relentless in their defensive pressure on Toronto's best player (the OUA leading scorer) Alex Hill, causing him to only go eight of 18 from the floor with five turnovers. Despite this, he still finished the night with a team high 23 points, followed by Denis Ankrah who added 14 of his own.
