Gaels fall on the road to Varsity Blues 3-1

BOX SCORE TORONTO (November 23, 2013) - The Queen's Gaels (5-3) lost to the Toronto Varsity Blues (8-2), 3-1 on Saturday night with set scores finishing 25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Kelsey Bishop (North Vancouver, B.C.) led all players on the day with 17 kills finsihing with 22 points. Gabrielle Down (Kelowna, B.C.) tallied 37 assists and 13 digs on the day. Toronto was led by Charlotte Sider (Ottawa, Ont.) who finished with 14 kills and 16 points on the day.

Toronto took the first set 25-19, the Gaels fought their way back into the second set to win 25-19, evening it out to 1-1. From there the Varsity Blues won two straight sets, 25-22 and 25-18.

Despite a strong effort from the Gaels, Toronto came out on top to win 3-1. Toronto led in kills with a better percentage as well as in digs and had fewer errors on the night.

Queen's is back in action next Friday when they take on the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the ARC at 6 p.m.
