Bailie gets the shutout as Gaels upset No. 7 Lancers 3-0

BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont. (November 22, 2013) - Gaels netminder Kevin Bailie (Kingston, Ont.) got the shutout stopping all 31 shots faced as the Gaels (7-0-5) knocked off the No. 7 Windsor Lancers (9-3-0) 3-0 on Friday night at the Memorial Centre in Kingston.

With the win the Gaels keep their point streak alive and have yet to lose in regulation play.

Bailie held the Lancers at bay in the first as Queen's got outshot 14-10. After a scoreless second period the battle of the goaltenders ended.

Queen's got their first of the game from Jordan Coccimiglio (Burlington, Ont.) who scored his first career CIS goal. The goal came at 3:28 in the third with assists going to Chris Van Laren (Kingston, Ont.) and Corey Bureau (Amherstview, Ont.).

Late in the third Queen's was hanging on to their lead and the Lancers started to put on the pressure. After just killing off time on back-to-back shifts the Gaels kept the puck high at the points to get some offense going.  Patrick McEachen (Stouffville, Ont.) stepped into a slap shot from the high slot and beat Parker Van Buskirk the Lancer netminder to give the Gaels the clear advantage.

Queen's tacked on and empty net goal and took a 3-0 decision.

The Gaels will be right back at it tomorrow night as they host No. 7 Windsor once again at 7:30pm at the Memorial Centre.
