Queen's to host McGill in non-conference football game

| By:
KINGSTON, Ont. – The Queen's Gaels will host the McGill Redmen in a non-conference football game on Sunday, August 26. The match at Richardson Stadium is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

The game will be a renewal of one of the Gaels' oldest football rivalries, dating back to 1898, with Queen's holding a 93-71-5 edge in the all-time series. This will be the third non-conference matchup between the squads since the Gaels joined the OUA football conference in 2001. Queen's swept the previous two matchups: a 39-20 home win in 2007, and a 32-13 win at Molson Stadium in 2008. The 2007 game was the last preseason contest held at Richardson Stadium.

The Gaels' last preseason action came in 2009, a 33-6 win over the Varsity Blues in Toronto.

Queen's returns 20 starters from last year's squad that went 6-2 and advanced to the OUA semi-final, where they fell to the eventual Vanier Cup champions, McMaster.

Fans who purchase season tickets prior to July 31 will receive, as a bonus, a free ticket for the exhibition game. Season ticket holders who have already purchased their package for this year will also receive the exhibition game ticket.

General admission tickets will be sold for $5, and fans will enjoy many exciting giveaways, games and fun for the whole family.
