First win for the Gaels a big one 84-43 over RMC

BOX SCORE KINGSTON (February 3, 2012) - The Queen's Gaels (1-16) got their first win of the season in strong form Friday night versus the Royal Military College Paladins (0-17). The final score of the game was 84-43.

The Gaels dominated the game from the tipoff. In the first quarter, they played excellent defense, holding the Paladins to only five points and scoring 15 of their own. In the second and third quarter, the Gaels got their offense in motion scoring 49 points. In the final frame, the Gaels outscored RMC by 11 capping their victory for the evening. 

The Geals spread the ball out well offensively. They got 24 assists in the game, and four players scored over 10 points, led by 16 from Alex Weatherhill of Hamilton, Ont. The Gaels also owned the boards, puling in 44 rebounds to the Paladins 24. The Geals also managed an impressive 16 steals on the night.

Queen's is back in action again tomorrow evening taking on the RMC Paladins once again. Tipoff is set for 8pm in the ARC.
