Gaels improve to 3-3 with win over McMaster

BOX SCORE KINGSTON, Ont.- The Queens Gaels women's basketball team eased to victory, 80-67, against the McMaster Maruaders at the Burridge Gymnasium, in Hamilton, Saturday evening. Showing efficient offensive play, shooting 44% from the field, the Gaels improved to 3-3 in OUA play.

Despite losing the battle down low, being out-rebounded 41-37, the Gaels were productive offensively. Queen's was efficient from the field, and Liz Boag (Kingston, Ont.), Lisa Minutillo (Brantford, Ont.) and Emily Hazlett (Fredericton, N.B.) each contributed two apiece from beyond the arc. Gaels post Sydney Kernahan (Calgary, Alta.) was the game leader in rebounds with 12 and contributed 12 points from the field, which was the team high.

The Tricolour put out their most dominant offensive efforts in the first and third quarters, scoring 23 and 31 respectively. Boag was pivotol in creating offense, tallying six assists, a game high. McMaster saw notewrothy play from Danielle Boiago (Hamilton, Ont.) who recorded 23 points.

The Gaels women's basketball team is next in action Friday, November 30th, when they play host to the Windsor Lancers. Game time is set for 6 pm in the ARC Main Gym.
