LACROSSE (W): Despite out-shooting and generally out-playing McMaster, the Gaels fell 8-3 to a McMaster squad that hasn't beaten Queens in three years on Saturday in Hamilton, Ont.
UP NEXT: Next Saturday, the Gaels head to Oshawa, Ont to play their final two games of the regular season against UOIT and Brock. The Gaels host the OUA Championships at Tindall Field from Oct. 26-28.
FASTPITCH: The Gaels headed to Ottawa for two doubleheaders over Thanksgiving weekend. On Friday, the Gaels lost both games in the doubleheader against Ottawa at Alexander Grove Park. They were shutout 9-0 in the opening and fell 8-1 in the second game. On Saturday, the Gaels turned it around and won both games against Carleton at Kars RA. The Gaels crushed the Ravens 14-3, then 12-3. Queen's is now 9-9 on the year.
UP NEXT: The Gaels are at home to Western and Windsor in a pair of doubleheaders this weekend.
GOLF: This past weekend, the Queen's women's and men's golf teams competed in the Toronto Invitational, held at Royal Ashburn Golf Club. Jenn Kates led the Queen's women's team, shooting 92 and 85 and tied for 13th overall, followed by Alex Rawn (101, 93). For the men, the team finished fifth in scoring out of 13 teams with an aggregate score of 476. Russell Bowie and Echo Chan both tied for 18th overall, both shooting 118 for the two days combined.
UP NEXT: The Gaels are at the McMaster Invitational on Saturday in Hamilton, Ont. The OUA Championships will begin this Sunday at Grey Silo Golf Club in Waterloo, Ont.
BASEBALL: The Gaels closed out with a tough week on the road, winning only one of five games. On Tuesday, the Gaels split the rescheduled doubleheader from September 22 against McMaster, losing the first 3-2 and winning the second 10-5. On Friday, the Gaels travelled to St. Catherines, Ont. to play Brock in a doubleheader. Queen's was shutout 16-0 in the first game and lost 13-3 in the second. On Saturday, the Gaels were shutout 15-0 to Toronto in Scarborough, Ont. This marks the end of the season for the Gaels, who finish the 2012 season with a 5-16 record, four games ahead of last year's mark.
