| By:
MONTREAL (August 27, 2011) - The Queen's Gaels men's teams was able to secure a consolation victory on Sunday while the women lost in their consolation final game at the Old Four Tournament in Montreal. Both teams faced off against the Western Mustangs, with the men winning in convincing fashion 4-1, and the women falling 2-1.

The men's team was led Sunday by Eric Koskins of Richmond Hill Ont. who notched a pair of goals in a game that saw the Gaels bring more determination and energy. Also scoring for Queen's were first year winger Michael Campea of Mississauga, Ont. and MacArinze Ojiaku of Ottawa in the convincing 4-1 win.

Kelli Chamberlain of North Bay, Ont., scored the lone goal for the women's side late in the second half to get the Gaels back to within one. In the end it wasn't enough with Western coming out on top 2-1.

On Saturday both Gaels teams fell to the host McGill Redmen with the women losing a close game 2-1 (4-3 in penalty kicks) and men dropping a 4-1 decision. The men's lone goal came when Jordan Brooks of Angus, Ont. beat the McGill keeper on a penalty kick, while the women were led by Riley Filion of Alexandria, Ont. who scored the lone goal and registered two shots.

The men's and women's championship games at the Old Four Tournament both had to be cancelled due to the field conditions Sunday afternoon. Weather caused there to be excessive water on the pitch, forcing the matches to be cancelled.
