Gaels fall short at Windsor

| By:
WINDSOR, Ont. (November 4, 2011) - Despite a 22 point performance from Joren Zeeman of Cambridge, Ont. the Queen's Gaels couldn't edge out a victory on the road as they fell to the Windsor Lancers, 3-1. Set scores were 23-25; 22-25; 25-19 and 20-25.

The Gaels were in tough each set against the Lancers but ultimately could not come away with the points they needed. Harrison Oake of Rodney, Ont. was the top scorer for the Lancers with 17 points to go along with his .256 kill percentage.

The Gaels went to Zeeman early and often as he had 52 attacks against the Lancers in the game, accumulating 21 kills in the process for a .250 kill efficiency. Michael Amoroso of Toronto was the most efficient Gael of the match with ten kills on 19 attacks for a .421 rate. Jackson Dakin of Courtenay, B.C. orchestrated the Gaels passing game with a team high 43 assists.

The Gaels will look to bounce back on Saturday when they take on their no. 7 nationally ranked rival the Western Mustangs. Start time is set for 8:00 pm in London.
