KINGSTON, Ont. (October 7, 2011) - Ottawa's Nikola Misljencevic led the Gaels with 14 points and seven rebounds in 33 minutes but it wasn't enough for the Gaels who dropped a close 67-61 scoreline to the visiting Bishop's Gaiters.

The Gaels had a strong first half and came out with a 42-33 lead over the Gaiters. However, they could not maintain the gap through four quarters. Bishop's played well in the second half, outscoring the Gaels by seven in the third quarter and eight in the fourth quarter to come out with the six point victory on the road.

Onnex Blackwood of Scarborough, Ont. led all scorers with 18 points in 24 minutes of play. Blackwood shot 60% from the field for Bishop's. Tim Hunter of Baie d'Urfe, Que. posted 11 points and four rebounds to contribute to the Gaiters win.

Misljencevic was the Gaels top scorer and was closely followed by Ryan Golden of Barrie, Ont. Golden had a strong all-around game for the Gaels scoring 13 points to go along with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Matt Baker of Kingston, Ont. was the third Gael in double digit scoring with 10 points, including 50% shooting from behind the three point line.

The Gaels will resume pre-season play next weekend at the Waterloo Invitational Tournament on October 14 in Waterloo, Ont. The Gaels will play their first tournament game against the Waterloo Warriors. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm.
