SUDBURY, Ont. (October 15, 2011) - The Gaels victory couldn't hold on in the final three minutes of play against the Laurentian Voyageurs this afternoon in Sudbury, Ont. The game ended in a 2-2 tie.
The Gaels wasted no time, with a goal by
Peter Christidis or Scaborough, Ont. in the eigth minute before Laurentian answered back 17 minutes later. At half the score was tied 1-1.
The scored remained 1-1 until the 70th minute of play, when
Patrick Zanetti of Carp, Ont. scored for the Gaels. The Gaels held their one goal lead until Laurentian conected with three minutes remaining to tie the score. The Gaels rallied at the end to try and score, but could not finish it off. The final score was 2-2.
The Gaels return to action tomorrow afternoon in North Bay against Nipissing University. Kickoff is set for 2:15.
