KINGSTON, Ont. (November 26, 2010) – The Western Mustangs dealt the Queen's Gaels men's hockey team its fifth straight defeat with the Gaels allowing three unanswered goals in the 5-2 loss on Friday at the Kingston Memorial Centre.

Western had five different scorers while Kyle Lamb of Port Coquitlam, B.C and Kevin Barker of Georgetown, Ont., registered three points each in the win. Goalie Josh Unice of Holland, OH., made 19 saves to collect his third win of the year.

The Mustangs sit atop the OUA West Division with 24 poitns and a 11-0-2 record, while the Gaels are tied for seventh place in the OUA East Division with Toronto at 11 points. The Gaels record is 5-7-1.

Brock Ouellet of Lindsay, Ont., and Scott Kenway of Calgary were the Gaels scorers while Steele De Fazio of Georgetown, Ont., made 26 saves in the loss.

The two teams traded goals four minutes into the game with Jullian Cimadamore of Concord, Ont., scoring first for Western, while Ouellet notched the equalizer just 19 seconds later. The Mustangs jumped back into the lead on Baker's goal five minutes later – but that was short lived as Kenway would score late in the first period to take a 2-2 tie into the second period.

From that point on, it was all Western as Steve Reese of Dorchester, Ont., scored the game winner at 1:13 into the second period on the power play. Lamb and Kyle Farmanara of West Vancouver, B.C., added the insurance markers coming both in the third.

The Gaels leading point scorers on the night were Jordan Mirwaldt of Winnipeg, and Joey Derochie Sudbury, Ont., who each had two assists. Ouellet and Kenway are now tied for the Gaels lead in scoring with 7 goals apiece, and sit one point behind Derochie for the team lead.

Queen's last win was back on Nov. 5 against the Ottawa Gee Gees when they won 5-4 in a shootout.

The Gaels will battle the Waterloo Warriors tomorrow at the Kingston Memorial Centre with the puck set to drop at 8:30pm. The Warriors are in third place of the OUA West Division with 20 points.
