WATERLOO, Ont. (October 24, 2010) - The Gaels went two for three on the weekend and will head into the OUA Championship next weekend ready for victory.
On Saturday, Queen's toppled McMaster 20-5 with five goals by
Chelsea Craig (Coquitlam, B.C.). Eight different players notched ast least one goal. Defense was equally impressive, allowing only 12 shots. In the evening game, Queen's beat the host Guelph, 14-9 as
Gwyneth Ross (Newton, Mass.) scored four and
Lisa McLaughlin (Whitby, Ont.) had a hattrick.
On Sunday, the Gaels travelled to Laurier and outgunned the Golden Hawks in shots on goal, but were held to only three goals losing 8-3.
The Gaels hed into the OUA ranked in third place with a record of 8-3-1 in exhibition play. The leading scoer for the Gaels is
Jacqueline Byers (Mississauga, Ont.) who has tallied 24 goals and had 12 assists for 36 points.
Gwyneth Ross (Newton, Mass.) also scored 24 with 9 assists for 33, and veteran player/coach
Lisa McLaughlin (Whitby, Ont.) led in goals with 26 and 4 assists.
