Lisa McLaughlin records 5 points in a losing affair
HAMILTON, Ont. (November 1, 2009) – Midfielder Lisa McLaughlin of Whitby, Ont. recorded five points in the OUA bronze medal lacrosse game, but her effort was all for not as the Queen's Gaels fell 16-10 to the Toronto Varsity Blues.

McLaughlin, a three-time OUA all-star, notched four goals plus an assist in the disappointing loss. Martha Ross of Newton, Mass., tallied two goals while sister Gwyneth scored once. Other scorers included Marsha Cryderman of Bowmanville, Ont., and Murielle Landry of Kingston, Ont.

Yesterday, the Gaels lost a close game to rival Western who defeated Queen's 8-7. That game saw Western advance to the OUA finals against Laurier leaving Queen's to play for the bronze medal today against Toronto.

Queen's finished the regular season in third place with an 8-4 record. The Gaels averaged 13 goals per game and were the league's fourth top offence in 2009-10. Earlier this week, McLaughlin was named an OUA all-star for the third time, while fourth year veteran Kalyn Bolland of Mississauga, Ont. earned her first ever selection.
