Gaels run to 17-5 victory over Toronto Varsity Blues

TORONTO (October 3, 2009) – Coming back from their first loss of the season, the No. 9 Queen's Gaels stormed the pitch today to defeat the University of Toronto Varsity Blues 17-5 in Toronto.

Andrea Wadsworth of Toronto led the Gaels to victory scoring twice which pushed her into a tie for third place in the OUA scoring race. Wadsworth has a total of 40 points and is tied with Western's Karen Hardwood of London, Ont.

Jocelyn Poirier of Ottawa recorded one try while Michelle Gauer of Calgary added two points with a completed conversion.

Queen's improves to a 3-1 record and are in second place of the OUA Russell Division, just one point behind the McMaster Marauders. The Gaels close out the regular season this Friday (Oct. 9) in an afternoon tilt against the (1-3) Brock Badgers at 3:00pm on Kingston Field.
