| By:
Kingston, Ont. (November 16, 2008) - Queen's hosted the Men's Squash East Sectional against McGill and the University of Toronto Saturday afternoon. Queen's would open the event against the Toronto and would  defeat the Varisty Blues 6-0.

McGill would then take on Toronto while Queen's would have a chance to rest up. McGill would hand Toronto the same fate Queen's did early winning 6-0. This set up the final match of the day between the
unbeaten Queen's and McGill teams.

As expected, it was a close affair with each team taking 3 matches. Queen's would end up taking the win however winning on games by a score of 15-11.

The  match-up against McGill  was an opportunity for Queen's to redeem itself  as they were defeated earlier in the year by McGill 9-2 in an exhibition match. Queen's did more than

Rookie Amr Hamour of Niagra Falls, Ont. had a stand out performance after being down 0-2 in both of his matches and came back to win 3-2 in both. Most noteable was his fourth match against McGill where he was behind 8-4 but staved off several match points to finally prevail 10-8.

Queen's would also have strong performances from Paul Gartenburg of Toronto, Ont. and Andrew Brennan of Antigonish, N.S.  who won all of their matches respectfully.

The Men's squash team now looks forward to the cross-over tournament against the western teams in January. Continued improvement over the next few months will make it possible for the team to  make the team finals which are held in February.
