Rowing in Kingston Celebrated

On Saturday, September 16th over 200 people came together to celebrate the 40th anniversary of rowing in Kingston. An event was organized to celebrate this milestone with an evening of boat christenings, dinner and a silent auction at Ban Righ Hall.

The evening was a great success with over $20,000 raised for the Kingston Rowing Club and Queen's University Rowing.

Rowing in Kingston has a long history dating back to 1832, but it wasn't until 1977 that the rowing community came together, with the creation of the Kingston Rowing Club. Over the past 40 years, the passion for excellence in rowing among athletes, coaches, and builders have helped produce international leaders and champions, putting Kingston in the sporting world spotlight.

The evening was made particularly special by the induction of 9 Queen's Alumni into the inaugural Kingston Rowing Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes the most outstanding rowers, coaches, and builders whose lasting contributions have brought distinction and honour to the sport of rowing. Inductees were honoured into the following three categories: Builders, Coaches, and Athletes. Congratulations to the following inductees:
