The Catherine Gertrude (Milliken) Smith Memorial Award is an endowed award established by Sherwood H. Smith, Jr. in memory of his mother, Catherine Gertrude (Milliken) Smith.

This award recognizes outstanding members of the Queen's Women's Basketball program who demonstrate both academic achievement and athletic excellence. Award recipients are student-athletes enrolled in any degree program at Queen's University and listed on the official competition roster of the Women's Basketball team.

Celebrating Excellence for Generations

As an endowed fund, gifts to the Catherine Gertrude (Milliken) Smith Memorial Award are invested to generate annual income while preserving the fund's principal. This approach ensures the award can continue to support deserving Women's Basketball student-athletes in perpetuity.

By supporting this endowed award, donors help honour Catherine's memory while recognizing student-athletes who embody the dedication, discipline, and pursuit of excellence that define the Queen's Women's Basketball program.

Your support helps:

• Recognize exceptional achievement in both academics and athletics
• Reward student-athletes who excel on the court and in the classroom
• Provide meaningful financial support to Women's Basketball student-athletes
• Strengthen the long-term success of the Queen's Women's Basketball program
• Create a lasting legacy that supports future generations of Gaels
