Alistair is one of few recent players who spent their entire four years playing solely for the 1st XV, two years of which he served as Captain.  During his time while on the first XV Alistair was known for his positive attitude, tireless work rate, exceptional skill.  Alistair was always willing to help a younger player improve his game, as flanker's following his footsteps can attest to, and instilling confidence in younger players cracking the 1st XV lineup.

Following his Queen’s playing career Alistair continued to play for the Blues and in 2016 Alistair was selected to the Canadian Men’s Senior 15s.  To date he has 6 caps and 1 try.

Steve (Jaimer) began his rugby playing days at Queen’s in 1981 in the Queen’s intramural league, after a very successful junior career in Quebec at John Abbott College.  After 2 years, he decided to try out for the Gaels and quickly established himself on the team, being selected Rookie of the Year in 1983 and MVP in 1984, the same year he served as Captain of the 1st XV.
Steve remained at Queen’s as an Assistant Coach and helped the 2nds to a Championship in 1985 and the 1sts to a Championship in 1986.
Steve’s involvement in rugby continues to this day.  For the past 4+ years, he has been an Assistant Coach with St. Lawrence College in Kingston, 3 years with the women’s team and just starting his 2nd year with the men’s team.  He has played for the Kingston Panthers since his Queen’s days, serving as captain and coach on several occasions.  He has further given back to the game as the coach of the Sydenham and Frontenac SS’s men’s teams, played for the Can Am team in various age groups for many years and continues to play Old Boys currently.  His work sabbaticals have allowed him to play for several clubs in Australia and New Zealand.  His longevity as a player is remarkable.
Steve also continues to give back to Queen’s RFC as a co-chair of the annual Fundraising Golf Tournament.

Ryan Kruyne

Ryan is the true embodiment of the QRFC spirit.  Ryan started his first season on the 4th team but by the end of his second year he was a regular on the 1st XV.  Ryan was known for his incredible work ethic, physical play and leadership.  His leadership truly shown through when, during his final season, he was asked to take over as team captain when the current captain had to step away for Provincial duties.  Ryan met the challenge head on, and continually rose to the top as the side’s best player.
Despite the fact that Ryan was a flanker/lock he was also the kicker.   During the 2009 OUA Final Ryan was the one who calmly slotted a 40 meter penalty goal to spark a 13 point comeback to beat Western 23-19. He was the team’s leader and best player on an undefeated 2009 champion team.

James Morton (Morty) came to Queen’s in 1984 after playing for the Canadian junior team and started at fly-half for the first team in his rookie year.  He never gave up the position for the next 4 years.  During that time, he was an integral part of 2 OUA championship teams, 1986 and 1987.  The 1987 championship was particularly special as the team went undefeated, thanks in part to Morton’s prolific kicking game.  As the Queen’s goal kicker, he provided the Gaels with an extra weapon, making several game-winning kicks to help seal the victory.
Morty was a character and his lively spirit made many of the long, away-game trips seem almost enjoyable.  His support for his teammates and keen knowledge of the game contributed greatly to the team’s success throughout his tenure.
James was recognized with an OUA all-star selection in 1986 and was the Queen’s MVP in 1987.  His leadership on and off the field is why he is being nominated for the Hall of Fame.

Since becoming Head Coach in 2004, Pete has been primarily responsible for building a culture of excellence at Queen’s Rugby – by focusing on exceptional Varsity/First Team performance while balancing the integrity of the Club structure (i.e. movement between the 6-8 teams, maintaining camaraderie amongst Varsity & non-Varsity players, etc.).

As a player, Pete played several years as a First Team player and was a leader on the OUA Championship Team of 2001 leading the league in tries and being named an OUA All-Star. After finishing his Queen’s playing career he went on to play representative rugby in Ontario with the Brantford Harlequins where he was part of the 2003 McCormack Cup Championship team and MVP, Niagara Thunder (Captain) and the Ottawa Harlequins (Captain). He stayed involved with the Queen’s program as an assistant coach.

Pete has continued to build the Queen's Rugby club into a holistic program that embodies the values of rugby. He started the foundation of not excluding any players based on skill, and continued a winning and respectful culture at Queens. He is a very passionate coach focused on player development and sport tactics, someone who always puts the well-being of his players ahead of his own without ever compromising performance or team development. During Pete’s tenure, 5 players have gone on to be capped for Canadian National Men’s XV, 3 for Canadian National 7s, 6 for Canada A and Maple Leafs and several for Canada Under 20.
He should be credited with building a very strong university rugby program in Canada and fostering a positive environment for men to grow both personally and athletically.
