A Message from the Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation

I’m pleased and proud to present you with information regarding the new Athletics and Recreation Brand – a strong and vibrant identity that reflects the attributes of our athletes and recognizes the traditions and history of our athletic program.

We unveiled our new logo August 2008, along with a strategic partnership agreement with adidas Canada as our official uniform and sport apparel sponsor. The new logo retains the letter “Q” from the previous logo, but is simplified, dynamic and fresh looking. It is tilted forward slightly, symbolizing an ongoing aspiration and desire for success, and is designed to bring together all of Athletics and Recreation programs under a common identifiable symbol. It is bold and in keeping with our vision to be the leading athletics and recreation program in Canada. 

Our new logo was developed as part of Phase One of our quest to revitalize our brand, and to understand how we can move forward to achieve a consistent and strong image for our athletes. I encourage you to look through our FAQ, as well as the summary of the research and development work that went into our new identity.
