Jiggy Schonfeld and
Ethan Thompson have been named the Queen's Gaels Varsity Student-Athletes of the Week for their performances this past weekend.
Schonfeld (Kinesiology and Health Studies) led Queen's Women's Rugby with a game-high four tries in the Gaels' season-opening 116-0 win over the host York Lions this past Saturday in Toronto.
Queen's returns to Nixon Field next weekend, hosting the Brock Badgers in their home opener, Saturday, Sept. 12 at 3 PM. Fans can watch the game with free entry.
Thompson (Arts & Science) captured first place at the WASZP Canadian Championships, North American Championships, and Americas Championships (North and South America).
