Queen’s Women's Soccer Battles to 1–1 Draw on Kick for the Cure Sunday

Queen's Women's Soccer battled the TMU Bold to a 1–1 draw Sunday afternoon at Richardson Stadium in the Gaels' annual Kick for the Cure Game.

Queen's wasted little time getting on the scoresheet. Soph Campbell (Kinesiology) scored in the fourth minute, with Sasha Doleman (Kinesiology) picking up the assist to give the Gaels an early 1–0 advantage.

The Gaels maintained their lead throughout the remainder of the opening half and entered the break ahead by one.

TMU responded early in the second half, finding the equalizer in the 46th minute to bring the match level at 1–1. Queen's continued to push throughout the remainder of the contest, but neither side was able to find the deciding goal before the final whistle.

Sunday's matchup represented more than the action on the pitch, with the Gaels hosting their annual Kick for the Cure game in support of breast cancer research.

Queen's entered the event with a $10,000 fundraising goal and surpassed that mark, raising $11,585 in support of the cause. The Gaels took the pitch in pink as players, staff, fans, and members of the Queen's community came together at Richardson Stadium to support the initiative.

With the result, Queen's adds another point to its OUA record as the Gaels continue their 2026 regular-season campaign. Queen's returns to action on Friday, Sept. 18, when they host the Ottawa Gee-Gees at Richardson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
