Queen's Women's Soccer battled the Carleton Ravens to a 0–0 draw Friday night at Richardson Stadium, with a lively crowd of first-year students filling the stands as part of the final celebrations of Orientation Week.
The first-year crowd brought plenty of energy throughout the night, cheering on the Gaels and creating a spirited atmosphere at Richardson Stadium as students came together to close out their first week at Queen's.
On the pitch, the Gaels matched that energy with a strong defensive performance throughout the hard-fought match up. Queen's kept Carleton off the scoresheet while continuing to push for a breakthrough at the other end.
Neither side was able to find the back of the net through 90 minutes, with Queen's securing the clean sheet and a point in the standings.
While the match ended scoreless, Richardson Stadium was anything but quiet, as the first-year students made their presence felt throughout the night and helped create a memorable conclusion to Orientation Week.
Queen's returns to Richardson Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 13, when they take on the TMU Bold. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
