The Queen's Gaels women's basketball team defeated the Nipissing Lakers 81-56 in a convincing home game. The Gaels showcased sharp shooting, tough defence, and balanced scoring to take control of the game from start to finish.
The Gaels set the tone early, opening up a dominant 30-16 lead in the first quarter with confident shooting and strong defence. They carried that energy into the second quarter, steadily pulling away to reach a 44-31 halftime lead. In the third quarter, the Gaels kept the pressure on, stretching the margin to 63-45. The Gaels finished strong in the fourth, controlling the pace and keeping the Lakers at a distance to secure a 81-56 win.
Bella Gaudet (Commerce) led the Gaels offensively with 19 points, including five three-pointers, while
Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) added 13 points and
Haley Barbieri (Arts & Science) contributed 11 points.
