The Queen's Gaels women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance at home on Saturday, February 7, defeating the Laurentian Voyageurs 86-49. Strong defence, efficient shooting, and balanced scoring allowed the Gaels to take control early and maintain their lead throughout the game.
The Gaels opened the first quarter with energy, building a 20-12 advantage through confident offence and tight defensive pressure. They extended their lead in the second quarter, pulling ahead 46-26 by halftime. Their momentum continued after the break, as consistent scoring and disciplined defence stretched the margin to 69-36 in the third. The Gaels closed out the game in the fourth quarter, finishing with an 86-49 victory.
Haley Barbieri (Faculty of Arts & Science) led the Gaels with 20 points, including three three-pointers.
Bella Gaudet (Commerce) added 16 points with four shots from beyond the arc, while
Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) contributed 13 points.
The Gaels will look to carry this momentum into their next game on Friday, February 13, against Ontario Tech.
