Queen's Cheerleading captures first national championship in 18 years

Queen's Cheerleading delivered a historic performance this past weekend, capturing the Collegiate National Championship at the Cheer Canada Nationals.

It marks the first national title for the program in 18 years and represents a milestone moment for cheerleading at Queen's University.

In one of the tightest competitions of the event, the Gaels posted a winning score of 82.3 out of 100. The top four teams were separated by just 2.3 points, with scores of 82.3, 81.7, 80.35, and 80.0, highlighting the intensity and high level of execution across the field.

Three Gaels, Lieren Aitken, Alex Collyer, and Lucas Huang were named to the national team as well.
