The Queen's Gaels women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a dominant 80-37 victory over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Friday, February 13, in a special Senior Night game at home. The Gaels delivered a complete performance on both ends of the floor, using strong defence and efficient scoring to take control early.
After today's game, the Gaels recognized graduating seniors
Bella Gaudet (Commerce),
Mikayla McFarlane (Kinesiology),
Amy Hagman (Kinesiology),
Haley Barbieri (Faculty of Arts & Science), and
Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) for their leadership and contributions to the program.
The opening quarter remained competitive, with the Gaels holding a narrow 15-11 lead. The Gaels then surged in the second quarter, putting together a dominant run to extend the margin to 47-15 by halftime. They maintained that momentum through the third quarter, stretching the lead to 66-30 before closing out the game with an 80-37 final score.
Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) led the Gaels with 18 points, while
Amy Hagman (Kinesiology) added 15 points with two three pointers, and
Haley Barbieri (Faculty of Arts & Science) contributed 13 points with three three pointers.
Gaudet set the Gaels' single-season record for three-pointers in the win.
