Queen's Men's Hockey opened its home schedule in exciting fashion on Friday night, defeating the Concordia Stingers 4-3 at Memorial Centre.
Concordia came out strong in the opening period, taking an early 2-0 lead. However, the Gaels battled back with a strong offensive effort to turn the game around.
Derek Hamilton (Arts and Science) led the way with two goals, while captain Ethan Larmand (Arts and Science) added another. Sebbie Johnson (Arts and Science) extended Queen's lead to 4-2 with what would ultimately stand as the game-winning goal. Concordia responded with a late goal, but the Gaels held on to secure their first home victory of the season.
Queen's will look to carry that momentum into its next matchup against the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Centre.
