The Queen's Gaels women's basketball team kept their perfect season intact on Saturday, January 24, edging out the Brock Badgers 66-64 to extend their undefeated record to 17-0. In a game that went down to the final moments, the Gaels showed composure and resilience to secure another hard-earned victory.
The Gaels came out strong in the opening quarter, building an early 25-12 lead through sharp ball movement and aggressive defensive pressure. Brock responded in the second quarter, tightening the game and trimming the margin as the Gaels headed into halftime with a narrow 33-32 advantage.
The contest remained tight throughout the second half. Brock briefly took the lead in the third quarter, edging ahead 49-48, but the Gaels stayed composed and continued to battle on both ends of the floor. The fourth quarter remained tightly contested, with the Gaels making key defensive moves and making timely baskets to close out a 66-64 win.
Katrina Renon (Arts & Science) led the Gaels with 17 points, knocking down two three-pointers, while
Haley Barbieri (Arts & Science) added 15 points.
Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) contributed 11 points, helping anchor a balanced offensive effort that proved crucial in the close finish.
