Gaels Remain Unbeaten After Dominant 106-34 Win Against Algoma

The Queen's Gaels Women's Basketball team extended their perfect season to 16-0 with a huge 106-34 win over the Algoma Thunderbirds on Friday, January 23. From the opening tip, the Gaels combined relentless offensive pressure with tight defence to dominate every phase of the game.

Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) scored 22 points, keeping the Gaels' offence strong. Ally Smith (Kinesiology) added 13 points, including three three-pointers, while Amy Hagman (Kinesiology) contributed 11 points. The team's consistent scoring kept the Thunderbirds at a distance and the Gaels firmly in control throughout the game.

The Gaels set the pace early, opening the first quarter with a 35-6 lead. They carried that momentum into the second quarter, outscoring the Thunderbirds 31-8 to take a commanding 66-14 advantage into halftime. In the third quarter, the Gaels continued their strong performance, adding 21 points to push the lead to 87-26. The Gaels closed the game strong in the fourth quarter, scoring 19 points to finish with a 106-34 victory.

The Gaels will look to continue their undefeated run as they play the Brock Badgers on Saturday, January 24!
