The Queen's Gaels Women's Hockey team earned a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Carleton Ravens on Saturday, January 17, continuing their strong play this season. The Gaels showcased determination, skillful passing, and timely finishing to secure the hard-fought win.
The Gaels struck first in the opening period, with
Mikayla Cranney (Arts & Science) scoring twice. Her first goal was assisted by
Jada Wood (Arts & Science) and
Melissa Parton (Arts & Science), and her second was set up by
Scarlett Nowakowski (Commerce) and
Taylor Eastwood (Commerce), giving the Gaels an early advantage.
Carleton responded in the second period with two goals to even the score, keeping the game tightly contested.
In the third period,
Sophy Aldred (Arts & Science) scored the game-winning goal, assisted by
Alex Recsky (Health Sciences), putting the Gaels ahead. The Gaels held strong defensively to maintain the lead and close out the game 3-2.
