The Queen's Gaels fell 3-1 to the Western Mustangs tonight on the road. Despite their best efforts, the Gaels fell short and will look for redemption tomorrow afternoon. Leading the Queen's offense was outside hitter

The Gaels found an early lead in the first set, however, a six-point run from the Mustangs allowed them to overturn the lead. Both teams struggled with service errors, in similar fashion to the Gaels' game last Friday. Queen's remained composed and settled in when it mattered most, with six unanswered points earning them a 23-17 lead. The Gaels came out on top with a 25-20 win in the first set.
The Mustangs found the early lead in the second set, going up 11-4 against the visiting Gaels. Setter Hall made a strategic kill at the net that caught Western off guard, thrilling the Queen's bench. The Gaels managed to close the Mustangs' lead to 14-10 and then tied up the score at 17-17. Hall and middle
Alex Brdarevic (Engineering) were connecting well at the net to make swift kills before Western could react. For the first time in the set, Queen's found a slight lead, 22-21, as set point approached. Despite this, Western reached set point first, but a kill by
Ben Carr (Arts & Science) kept the Gaels alive for another point. After a close match, the Mustangs came out on top 26-24.
Brdarevic opened the third set with a well-placed service ace, elating the away team's bench. After each winning a set, the teams kept the score close in the third.
Izaak Zabjek (Kinesiology) supported the Gaels with a solo block followed up by a kill, tying the score up at 15-15. The score remained close, with the teams continuing to tie up to 22-22. However, Queen's continued to struggle with their service errors, allowing the Mustangs to take the third set 25-23.
The Mustangs looked dominant in the fourth set, as the Gaels struggled to generate offense. Western went up 9-0, while Queen's could not get on the board. The home team held that lead on the scoreboard through to the end, with the Gaels falling 25-14 in the final set.
