The Queen's Gaels Women's Basketball team extended their perfect season to 13-0 with a dominant 85-66 victory over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday, January 10. The Gaels controlled the game from start to finish, combining strong defensive pressure with efficient scoring to remain undefeated on the season.
Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) led the way with 20 points, knocking down five three-pointers to pace the Gaels' offence.
Bella Gaudet (Faculty of Arts & Science) followed closely with 19 points, while
Haley Barbieri (Faculty of Arts & Science) added 16 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. The balanced scoring effort kept the Gee-Gees on their heels throughout the game.
The Gaels set the tone early, jumping out to a 26-10 lead in the first quarter. The Gaels continued to build momentum in the second quarter, extending their advantage to 45-26 by halftime. Coming out of the break, the Gaels maintained their intensity, outscoring Ottawa in the third quarter to push the lead to 68-49. In the final quarter, the Gaels closed the game decisively, holding the Gee-Gees to just 17 points and finishing with an 85-43 win.
The Gaels will look to keep their winning streak when they return home to face the Guelph Gryphons at the ARC on Friday, January 16.
