Queen's Men's Rugby fell 43-21 to the Guelph Gryphons in the OUA Championship Game Thursday night in Guelph, Ont. With the loss, the Gaels finish the conference season as OUA silver medalists.
It was a close contest through the first half, with Queen's leading 7-5 through the first 35 minutes and trailing just 12-7 at half time.
The Gryphons scored the first three tries of the second half and despite the Gaels trading tries with Guelph down the stretch, Queen's couldn't overcome the Guelph lead, ultimately falling to the Gryphons by 22 points.
Coen Quinn (Applied Science) scored the first try for Queen's while
Tao Nichol (Applied Science) had the other two.
Adam Stander (Engineering) had two conversions for the Gaels while OUA Player of the Year
Marcus D'Acre (Economics) had one conversion.
Queen's Men's Rugby will end their season next weekend in the Canadian University Men's Rugby Championship (CUMRC).
