Queen's Women's Hockey traveled to Toronto for a Saturday night showdown with the TMU Bold, looking to extend their winning momentum following a strong performance the day prior.
TMU drew first, taking a 1–0 lead late in the opening period. Queen's goaltender Alexis Jandciu (Concurrent Education) was solid in net, turning aside a string of shots and finishing the frame with a .933 save percentage, keeping the Gaels within striking distance.
The second period belonged to Queen's. Taya Leonard (Kinesiology) finally broke through, scoring her first power-play goal of the season off a delay-of-game advantage, giving her eight points on the year. Assists went to Taylor Eastwood (Commerce) and Sara Di Filippo (Concurrent Education). Later in the period, Scarlett Nowakowski extended the Gaels' lead with a shorthanded goal in the closing minutes, assisted by rookie Rhae Thomas (Arts & Sciences). Queen's dominated puck possession and dictated the pace, heading into the final frame with a 2–1 advantage.
TMU responded early in the third, tying the game at 2–2 just five minutes in. The remainder of regulation was a tense back-and-forth battle, with both teams generating scoring chances. Jandciu continued to shine between the pipes, finishing regulation with 30 total saves and keeping the Gaels competitive.
In overtime, Queen's applied relentless pressure in the offensive zone, creating multiple high-quality opportunities. The game-winning moment came when Carys Collie (Life Sciences) delivered a precise shot past the TMU goaltender, securing the 3–2 victory and capping off a hard-fought road win. The triumph keeps the Gaels' momentum rolling as they enter the second half of the season.
Looking ahead, Queen's Women's Hockey returns to action in the new year, January 7th, heading to Montreal to take on the Carabins. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM as the Gaels aim to continue their dominant run and maintain their position atop the East Division standings.
