The Queen's Gaels Men's Basketball team earned a hard-fought 90-87 victory over the Nipissing Lakers on Friday, showcasing skill and resilience in a tightly contested game. Through steady offensive contributions and disciplined defense, the Gaels stayed competitive until the final buzzer.

Lucas Ponting (Commerce) added 12 points, knocking down four three-pointers to give Queen's timely scoring from beyond the arc. Ashton Bain (Arts) contributed 9 points, providing steady support on both ends of the floor.

The opening quarter finished tied at 28-28, with both teams trading baskets in an up-tempo start. In the second quarter, the Gaels gained a slight edge, outscoring Nipissing to take a 49-45 lead into halftime. The third quarter remained competitive, with Nipissing briefly taking a 70-69 lead, but the Gaels stayed composed and prepared to respond in the final quarter.
