Gaels Secure 2-1 Second-Half Comeback Win Over Nipissing

The Queen's Men's Soccer team battled to earn a 2-1 victory over the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, October 4th at Richardson Stadium. After falling behind in the first half, the Gaels responded with two second-half goals to secure the win. With the result, Gaels improve their record to 4-4-1, continuing to build momentum in the season.

It was a hard-fought match, with both sides showing physical intensity throughout. The Lakers opened the scoring midway through the first half, but the Gaels held firm defensively and began to shift the momentum heading into the break. Early in the second half, Jacob Ball (Economics) scored on a penalty kick to tie the game. Just minutes later, Ball found the back of the net again off a pass from Ian Ferguson (Arts & Science), putting the Gaels ahead.

The Gaels held strong through the final whistle, with goalkeeper Connor Adams (Fine Art) making key saves to preserve the advantage. With seven shots on goal and five corners, the Gaels maintained control throughout the game to seal the 2-1 victory.

Cheer on the Gaels as they return to Richardson Stadium tomorrow, Sunday, October 5th, to face the Carleton Ravens and look to build on this hard-fought victory!
