The Queen's Gaels Women's Hockey team put up a strong fight on Friday, October 31st, but fell 4-2 to the Western Mustangs in a fast-paced matchup.
Western opened the scoring early in the first period, but the Gaels kept their composure and continued to press offensively. In the second period, the Gaels answered back when
Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering) buried a shot, assisted by
Mikayla Cranney (Arts & Science) and
Scarlett Nowakowski (Commerce), cutting the deficit and giving the team momentum.
In the third period, Hudson added another goal as the Gaels pushed to close the gap. Despite pulling the goalie late in the period to add extra pressure, the Mustangs held on to secure the win.
The Gaels will look to bounce back against the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, November 1st.
