The Queen's Gaels Women's Hockey team earned a 3-2 victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, November 1st, capping off the weekend with another strong performance.
The Gaels struck early, as
Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering) opened the scoring before the five-minute mark of the first period, assisted by
Megan Hirschfeld (Health Sciences).
Melani Brooks (Arts & Science) extended the lead with another goal, giving Queen's a 2-0 advantage.
Waterloo fought back to tighten the game, but
Jada Wood (Arts & Science) found the back of the net for the Gaels' third goal, assisted by Hudson and
Scarlett Nowakowski (Commerce), before the end of the first period. Despite late pressure from the Warriors, the Gaels held firm to secure the 3-2 win.
Goalie
Emma Tennant (Mechanical Engineering) made 20 saves, keeping the Gaels competitive throughout the game.
The Gaels will look to carry their momentum forward when they take on the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday, November 7th.
