Queen’s Women’s Basketball Pulls Away to Beat Windsor Lancers 68-56.

The Queen's Women's Basketball team hit the road taking on the Windsor Lancers.

Queen's started strong in the first quarter, with Kiyara Letlow (Kinesiology) opening the scoring with two free throws, followed by a three-pointer from Haley Barbieri (Arts & Sciences). The Gaels ended the quarter with a 15-9 lead, led by Barbieri's seven points, while Katrina Renon (Arts & Sciences) and Brooke Hussey (Kinesiology) each added two points.

The second quarter was tightly contested, with Queen's holding a slim 32-31 lead at halftime. Letlow continued to lead the team, and Hussey contributed four points to keep the Gaels just ahead.

In the third quarter, Queen's pulled away, scoring 26 points and taking a 58-42 lead into the final period.

The Gaels maintained their momentum in the fourth, finishing with a 68-56 victory. Kiyara Letlow led all scorers with 17 points, while Haley Barbieri (Arts & Sciences)  added 12 and Brooke Hussey (Kinesiology) finished with 10. Additional contributions came from Bella Gaudet (Commerce) with 10 points, Mikayla McFarlane (Kinesiology) and Katrina Renon with six each, Ally Smith (Kinesiology) with five, and Sara Reid (Kinesiology) with two points.

Catch the Queen's Gaels back in action tomorrow as they face off against their rivals, the Western Mustangs, in London. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
