The Queen's Gaels extended their undefeated streak to 4-0-0 with a 3-1 victory over the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, October 18th, at the Kingston Memorial Centre.
Nipissing opened the scoring late in the first period, but the Gaels quickly found their rhythm in the second.
Melissa Parton (Arts & Science) tied the game at 8:25, assisted by
Taya Leonard (Kinesiology) and
Sophy Aldred (Arts & Science).
The Gaels carried their momentum into the third, as
Jada Wood (Arts & Science) scored to give the Gaels the lead, with help from
Mikayla Cranney (Arts & Science) and
Taylor Eastwood (Commerce). Leonard later added a goal with minutes left on the clock, assisted by Wood and
Sophie Hudson (Chemical Engineering), to seal the 3-1 win.
Goalie
Alexis Jandciu (Concurrent Education/Science) made 17 saves, keeping the Gaels competitive throughout the game.
The Gaels will look to maintain their strong start on the road when they face the Brock Badgers on Friday, October 24th.
