Queen's Women’s Squash sweeps second Crossover Tournament

KINGSTON, Ont. (Jan. 20, 2025) - The Queen's Gaels Men's and Women's Squash hosted the second Crossover of the season- the final tournament of the Jesters University Squash League, in Kingston on Saturday.

The Queen's Women Squash dominated both their matches, securing a 7-0 victory over the Waterloo Warriors and a 6-1 win against the McMaster Marauders.

It was a solid finish to the regular season, providing the Gaels with solid momentum heading into the OUA Championships, which are set to take place from Feb 7-9 in Niagara, Ont.

Men's/Women's Curling

The Queen's Gaels women's curling had an outstanding performance at the Brock Invitational, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record in their pool. They ended up tied with Waterloo, who also went 4-0 in their pool. However, the overall standings were determined by the total last rock distance score, and with a slightly higher distance, the Gaels finished in second place.

The men's team had a mixed result, posting a 2-2 win-loss record. After a tough start with losses in their first two games on Saturday, they bounced back strong, securing wins in both of their Sunday matches. Ultimately, they finished in fifth place, factoring in both their pool record and total last rock distance scores.
