Women's Soccer Defeats RMC, Builds Three Game Win Streak

Queen's Women's Soccer took on the RMC Paladins in their Thursday evening match up, emerging with a 5-0 victory.

With the win, the Gaels record on the season improves to 5-1-1. They now sit provisionally first in the OUA East.

Morgan Fenton (Philosophy) secured two back-to-back goals in the victory.

Marissa Gravel (Life Sciences) was first to find the back of the net in the 3rd minute, assisted by Mattson Strickler (Con Ed).

Gravel returned the favour soon after, setting Strickler up for a goal in the 22nd minute.

Fenton found the next two goals for Queen's with points in the 30th and 35th minute, the second of which was assisted by Brinley Bjornson (Arts).

To wrap up the game, Melina Glavas (Sciences) added a final goal in the 54th minute.

Goalkeeper Kirstin Tynan (Political Studies/Health Studies) also maintained a clean sheet in the victory, saving all four of the Paladin's shots on goal. Tynan has only let in two goals this season and has maintained a clean sheet in all three of the Gael's most recent games.

Queen's Women's Soccer is back on the road on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 12:00pm, taking on the Laurentian Voyagers.
