Queen's Women's Basketball added a 9th win to their streak by defeating the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Friday night in Thunderbay, Ont., leaving the court with a 55-point lead final score.
The Gaels established a commanding double-digit lead in the opening quarter and maintained their dominance for the remainder of the game. Points off turnovers heavily favored Queen's with 29 points compared to Lakehead's 4. The Gaels also capitalized on second chance points with 13 while Lakehead scored none.
Julia Chadwick (Ottawa, Ont.) finished with 19 points, and 13 rebounds.
Emma Weltz (Timmins, Ont.) also scored in the double-digits with 14 points.
With the win, the Gaels improved their record to 18-2. The Gaels are back at the ARC (Athletics and Recreation Centre) Feb. 16 at 6:00 P.M where they will face the Ottawa Gee Gees, who are currently holding a 15-4 record,Â
