KINGSTON, Ont. (Dec. 2, 2023) - Queen's locked in a win against the Waterloo Warriors with a final score of 106-65, Saturday night at the Athletics and Recreation Center (ARC).
Queens capitalized heavily on turnovers, converting them into 24 points, while Waterloo struggled in this aspect, scoring only 3 points off turnovers. Queens' bench proved to be a formidable asset, contributing 52 points, which significantly surpassed Waterloo's bench contribution of 22 points
Luka Syllas led the team with 21 points, 7 assists and 3 steals.
Michael Kelvin II scored 17 points and 11 rebounds, shooting 55% from the three-point line to record 5 three-pointers.
When asked about what influenced his performance that evening, Kelvin II expressed appreciation for the crowd. "The fans are a big help. It's great having everyone out here supporting us," he shared. He also went on to acknowledge Coach Steph Barrie. "Coach told me to keep shooting and be fearless," Kelvin II highlighted. Coach Steph commented, "Our shooting tonight was one of our better shooting performances of the season."
With the win, the men improved their record to 15-3 and extended their winning streak to 8. The Gaels are on the road for their next game February 9th at 8:00PM in Thunderbay to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves.
