Queen's Men's Basketball secured victory over Lakehead Thunderwolves with a final score of 98-77 on Friday night in Thunderbay, Ont.
The Gaels quickly took control of the court, leaving the Thunderwolves trailing. Queen's would hold the largest lead of 25 points, while Lakehead failed to pull ahead at any point of the game. Queen's also outrebounded Lakehead with 44 rebounds compared to Lakehead's 22, and recorded 28 assists, surpassing Lakehead's 22.
Cole Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) delivered an outstanding performance with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Four other Gaels contributed double-digit scores, led by
Luka Syllas (Kingston, Ont.) with 17 points,
Aaron Tennant (London, Ont.) with 11, and
Cameron Bett (Thames, UK) and
Simon Bailey (Straford, Ont.) who added 10 each.
With the win, the men improved their record to 17-3. The Gaels' next game will take place Feb. 16th at 8:00PM as they take on the Ottawa Gee Gees at the ARC (Athletics and Recreation Centre).
