Queen's Women's Hockey closed out their regular season with a 2-0 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues Saturday night in Toronto, Ont.
Emma Tennant (Pointe-Claire, Que.) recorded 19 saves for the shutout in the win for Queen's.
After a scoreless first period, the Gaels scored twice in the second period. Scout Watkins-Southward (Kingston, Ont.) opened the scoring for Queen's 15 seconds into the second with a goal assisted by
Kennedy MacAlpine (Newmarket, Ont.) and
Sarah Campbell (Oakville, Ont.).
Mikayla Cranney (Aurora, Ont.) doubled the Gaels' lead late in the second period with MacAlpine and
Alyson Reeves (Toronto, Ont.) picking up the assists.
After a scoreless third period, Queen's held on for the two-goal win.
With the victory, the Gaels improved their record to 15-12-1-0, and finished the regular season third in the OUA East Division standings.
