Queen's Women's Basketball swept their weekend road series and extended their winning streak to eight games with a 60-56 win over the McMaster Marauders Saturday in Hamilton, Ont.
The Gaels opened up a nine-point lead over the Marauders in the first quarter and extended their lead to 16 heading into the final quarter before withstanding McMaster's late run to win by four points.
Three players scored in double digits for Queen's in the win, led by
Brooke Hussey with 16 points off the bench. Hussey (Kinesiology) added eight rebounds and four steals in the win.
Mikayla McFarlane (Kinesiology) chipped in with 14 points while
Katrina Renon (Arts & Science) recorded a double double with 13 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
Hussey's big game helped the Gaels top the Marauders in bench points, outscoring McMaster 26-7.
With the win, Queen's heads into the winter break on an eight-game win streak, third in the OUA East Division standings with an 8-2 record.
