Queen's Men's Hockey continued their hot start to the season with a 3-2 overtime win over the Western Mustangs Friday night in London, Ont.
Nolan Hutcheson (Kingston, Ont.) was the hero Friday night on the road, scoring the winner just one minute into the extra frame, breaking in on a partial breakaway and beating Western's goalie high for the win.
The Mustangs opened the scoring midway through the first period before back-to-back goals by the Gaels.
Liam Tanner (Langley, B.C.) evened the score late in the frame with a power play marker assisted by
Holden Katzalay (West Vancouver, B.C.) and
Hayden Fowler (Kingston, Ont.).
Lalonde (Windsor, Ont.) gave Queen's a 2-1 lead midway through the second period, with Katzalay earning a second assist on the night.
Western tied the game late in the third but the Gaels would come out victorious in overtime.
With the win, Queen's improved their record to 8-1-0-0. The Gaels will close out their weekend roadtrip Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. against the Windsor Lancers in Windsor, Ont.
